About Young Black

Young Black is a private limited company established in 1979, owned and managed by the two main Directors;  David Black and Lawrence Young.  We are based in Swindon in purpose built offices which we designed and constructed in 2000.

Young Black sells a wide range of specialist fastening products.  We promote two main brands which cover the majority of the tools and fastenings we supply.

MAX – We have distributed MAX products within the UK and Ireland since 1995 and on behalf of MAX put this high quality brand firmly on the map.

MONTANA – This is our “house brand”.  Existing along side MAX it has allowed us to broaden our range of products and supply a larger market (industrial and distribution).

Young Black is a distributor of specialist collated fastening systems to industry and construction.  We have sales divisions serving both industrial and construction distribution.

sta-logo  STA (Structural Timber Association)  Formally the UKTFA, Young Black has been an active member for around 10 years. Lawrence Young is now the current Chairman of this Association. The STA has more than 300 members, a board of 8 Directors, a CEO and staff.  The main activity of the STA is the promotion and use of Timber in the construction industry.

mpba logo      MPBA (Modular & Portable Buildings Association)  Young Black have been active members of the MPBA for many years and currently Brian Morrison (YB National Sales Manager) is a board member. The Association represents companies involved in the manufacture, sale and hire of modular buildings. These buildings range from accomodation on building sites to houses, hotels and student accomodation.

pta logoPFA (Power Fastenings Association)   Young Black have been active members of the PFA. The Association represents companies who provide professional “system sell” collated fastening systems in the UK and Ireland markets. The Association drives standards into industry and has taken the lead on such issues as CE marking and quality standards. David Black is a past Chairman of the PFA.
